Now that summer is here, make
sure you've brought it inside with lots of flowers. Put
small bouquets in special places like beside your bed and
by your bathroom sink. And if you don't have a garden,
buy a bouquet at the grocery store and pull it apart, making
smaller bouquets.
Make certain you have plenty of lighting for the outdoors. Uplights
in gardens highlight beautiful plants, while white lights strung
around porches and patios sparkle like fireflies.
For a lovely indoor or outdoor centerpiece, fill a shallow
bowl with water and add a few floating candles and blossoms.
Don't forget that empty firebox! Add greenery, low-light
plants, candles, dried flowers, or a pretty painted screen
to add a touch of summer. Or use white birch logs
and add some candles for a pretty summer look. Just remember
to open the flue when you light the candles.
Don't always think 'flowers' when putting pots on the deck. Green
plants make lovely accessories!
Now is a great time to pick up picnic baskets at flea markets
and yard sales. They make an interesting summertime arrangement
when placed together on the covered porch. Or place potted
plants inside for a different look. Or use them for all
kinds of storage such as extra towels in the bathroom or books
in the living room. Or you can even use them for picnics! |
