As the weather turns chillier and we get
ready for the holidays, it's time to turn our attention to
inside our homes.
Here are some ideas to help you warm your space!
-
Refresh the air in your home (while adding beauty) with
stalks of dried herbs (lavender, rosemary, and thyme
work well) 'planted' in a wooden box. As they dry,
they will give off a wonderful scent
- and continue to
look good for a long time!
-
Instead of out-of-season flowers, use fruits and vegetables
of the season to decorate your dinner table.
-
Find somewhere to add the jewel tones of fall to your
home - whether it's paint (even one wall in a room),
pillows, or just a throw draped over a chair.
-
Just because you've moved indoors, don't forget to make
the entrance to your home inviting. Replace those
pots of flowers with evergreens for a wonderful look
all through the winter.
-
Instead of candles in your candle holders, use small
pumpkins and gourds. They may not bring soft candlelight,
but they add a colorful touch - and they're much safer!
- Bring out a small Christmas tree early and decorate
it for Halloween, then Thanksgiving. And
keep it
up after the holidays with valentine's décor!
- Cozy up your bedroom with lots of pillows and a warm,
fluffy comforter. You may even learn to appreciate
those long, cold nights!
