If you're like me, the winter blahs are setting in . . . the tree
is gone, it's really dark and cold outside . . . I definitely need
something to perk me up! I have a few below that help me. I
truly hope they do the same for you!
Decorate for Valentine's Day - even if you don't have children! Fill
vintage glasses of varying heights with candy hearts and use
them as a centerpiece, even if you're eating alone.
- Splurge on colorful flowers that aren't necessarily tulips. Better
yet, fill those glasses with unusual flowers instead of Valentine's
candy!
- For a different centerpiece, stack glass cake platters and
cover the flat surfaces with candy hearts.
Add beautiful deep jewel-toned pillows and throws to your
living or family room and watch everyone cuddle up and settle
in.
- Instead of changing your family room, how about your bedding? Change
to a light neutral and add colorful pillows. You'll forget
all about the winter!
Neutral not
your thing? Then go for colorful by painting
a wall - or an entire room - in a really hot color.
- If you're really ready for a new beginning, splurge on a feng
shui consultation to help balance all of the elements in a favorite
room.
- And when you've finally had enough of the indoors, go outside
for a walk, however brief. There's much beauty to be found
in the winter landscape.
