If you took the advice I gave in my last newsletter, you took advantage of those January white sales to purchase some beautiful things for your bedroom.  Here are a few suggestions you can use to make this sanctuary even more special. Bedroom
  • Keep your bedroom tidy and free of clutter.  This will give you a feeling of calmness when you enter.

  • Accessorize only with things you truly love . . . and keep those at a minimum.

  • Paint the room a soothing color, conducive to relaxation.  Make it a color you absolutely love!

  • Use pillows on the bed to bring in an accent color and to create a soft feeling to the room.

  • Instead of purchasing a bedskirt, try laying rectangular tablecloths across the box spring and adjusting each side to your preference.

  • Set up a special place just for you.  A comfy chair by a window gives you a special place to retreat and relax.

  • Have lighting by the bed and your special chair.  Halogen bulbs in the lamps will give you bright, but not harsh light, suitable for reading.  Don’t turn on the overhead light unless you absolutely must.

  • Instead of a headboard, try hanging a curtain rod with curtains that match the décor.

  • Make sure you have plenty of candles for ambience.
Now all you have to do is take the time to enjoy your special sanctuary!
